Another bear in there

I really only sew during naptime and on weekends, if hubby is ok to amuse the little boy.  I find it quite difficult to do much sewing and crafting when my toddler is awake and also feel slightly guilty when I try to do so.  For the last few weeks I have put Owen down in his cot for a nap and my head says 'Right, time for some sewing', but instead my legs walk my body straight to my own bed for my own nap.  Hello third trimester!!  So this little teddy took quite some time to make.  I have blogged about making these teddy bears before, here.   I used Simplicity 5461.  I have decided that after I make one more of these (for my own new baby) I am going to retire from making these.  Well, for a little while anyway.  There are just too many friends having babies and not enough Rosi energy.  This was for my friends new little boy who had quite a rough entry into the world.  Let's be thankful for modern medicine people.  (I am very much. Long story).  I wondered if his big sister might be a little put out that he was receiving lots of gifts so I thought I had better craft her a quick pressie - with all that excess energy I have.
So young Miss got a flower headband made from scraps with the Kanzashi flower template.  Love the Kanzashi template.  The flower looks complicated but is very quick and satisfying to make.  Young Miss loved her new headband and looked quite cute even though I do say so myself.

  1. Nice teddy! That flower looks beautiful and it does look complicated. I must earmark this for when I have time (ha). Oh and don't feel bad... lay down too.. who knows when you'll get time again after the baby!

  2. Very cute head band, the flower looks difficult. Love the colours of the bear, and the babies name on the foot - nice touch.

    1. The fabric came from my sisters stash which I am 'looking after' for her while she is working overseas. Score!

  3. These are both so cute; and I am so impressed that you are sewing so much for others at this stage in your pregnancy. You are so generous with your time and energy! Take care :)

    1. I'm afraid the sewing for others has come to an abrupt end! But I'll keep sewing for my little boy which I suppose is sewing for others.
